Introduction

A sequence of arpeggio-like figures with accents in variable metres ends several times in the resting point of a high, soft tone. The cello player speaks seemingly unconnected, monosyllabic English words to accompany the accents. A slower middle section features very quiet and noisy tremolo events that stand next to each other independently. The piece concludes with a quasi-reversal of the beginning with the resting point in the depths and this time the Czech translations of the initial words.
